Post Op Lymphatic Massage
Alleviate your Pain & Expedite your Recovery
At Coastal Massage & Wellness, we have developed a NEW, client centered (pre-op AND post-op) surgical massage treatment to alleviate pain & expedite healing! We call it Post-Op Lymphatic Therapy.
Gentle manual techniques assist in our clients’ surgical rehabilitation process and have proven instrumental to accelerate recovery, soften scar tissue, and reduce swelling and bruising.
Undergoing any surgical procedure means inducing physical trauma. Our specialized and integrated manual post surgical massage techniques utilizes a light, pain-free touch for clients with high post-operative sensitivity.
Inflammation is a leading cause of cell deterioration and death. By mobilizing stagnant lymphatic fluid, inflammation is reduced and washed away. Additionally, post surgical massage, Post Op Lymphatic Therapy increases the flow of endorphins, allowing clients to receive welcome feelings of relaxation and well-being. This, combined with a visible reduction in swelling and bruising, provides clients with immediate, positive results.
Following a surgical procedure, once someone is able to get up and move around, they are ready to receive post surgical massage Post Op Lymphatic Therapy. We begin treating clients as soon as 24 to 48 hours after their surgery, prompting accelerated healing right away and cutting down on time spent in bed. For optimal results, clients who come in two to three times a week for the first few weeks after their surgery experience dramatic results for an expedited recovery.
Post Op Lymphatic Therapy is useful in the following:
Reducing perinatal ‘puffiness”
Releasing and preventing clogged milk ducts and improving milk production in breastfeeding mothers
Reducing postpartum abdominal pouch and fluid retention related postpartum edema
Lipedema, lymphedema, and other autoimmune/inflammatory diseases with symptoms of swelling
“Prehab” routine when you are preparing for a scheduled surgery
Reducing perioperative swelling, breast augmentation/mastectomy, c-section and cosmetic procedures such as rhinoplasty, liposuction and abdominoplasty
Great addition to fitness routine when your goal is to reduce diet or inactivity related to “bloating”
